Point Guard College’s ‘Prep School’ Helps Local Hoopsters

Basketball season might still be a few months away, but you wouldn’t know if you stopped by Columbia Bible College last week.

The college, previously used during the spring as the [Canadian Football League's] B.C. Lions home base for training camp, was being used by the Point Guard College, a basketball camp designed to train young players about the intricacies of the point guard position.

“It’s an opportunity to help these kids think like a champion,” said Suzanne DeGroot, who was co-directing this year’s camp at CBC with Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s basketball champion Trevor Nerdhal.

Nerdhal won the CIS title last year with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

The Prep School, which includes kids aged 12 to 15, was held at the CBC. [More...]
